Hi! My name is Joni, a wife and a loving mother of 3 lovely children, and a mama to a furball named Maggie. And I’m here to tell you a story of how Whimsy and Thread was born. 

 

My love for sewing started a little over 3 years ago. I started off sewing accessories and blankets for my niece, nephew, and my kids. I developed a passion for gifting people unique items made especially for them, with love as the secret ingredient. 

I started dedicating more and more of my free time to creating things, and people around me started showing love for my creations. The demand for hand-made bundles of joy was through the roof. And so, I created Whimsy and Thread. 

 

Our team consists of 4 dedicated and passionate team members. 

 

Elizabeth - the oldest of my bunch. She helps out with trimming, Packing, and deals with shipping your orders to your doorstep.

Liz – We quickly became great friends after learning together about or sewing machines, she also made me a part of a quilter’s guild.  She is a great sewist with an eye for detail.  ​

​

Whitney – A mother of two, and one of my greatest friends. Her job is to help with product testing, research, and development as she has a great taste for colors and brings new ideas to the table. 

​

And we’re all here to make sure each one of our orders is not only made with love, but also respects our quality standards.

Whimsy and Thread is all about family, people, and community. Every product we offer is made with love. We design, trim, and package every piece by hand, putting our hearts and souls into every piece. 

All of our items are made with meticulous attention to detail that you will not find in any mass-produced product, and we go the extra mile to make sure our customers’ expectations are met every time!

We believe in giving back to our community. 

Our mission in giving back started off through the quilters guild I had joined. We partnered up with the Linus project, whose aim was to provide blankets for children in hospitals and care centers. We ended up providing 50 blankets to children in need. 

 

After the covid-19 pandemic spread, we had to have a role in helping out our community and giving back to the people risking their lives for the safety of our families. Our team made their best efforts to sew and donate 1000 face masks to high-risk individuals, COVID-19 testing sites, nursing homes, EMS, and churches.
